Embracing to “Shut Er’ Down” « Devont'e Watson's Blog

Washington- Tomorrow is the last day for congressional members to agree on a budget for fiscal year 2011 that ends this October. Thus, if federal legislation fails in the attemption process, the country would suffer a depriving shutdown of the federal government and the bureaucratic sectors thereof. It has been made the assumption, with the slightest amount of optimism, that the government will remain open. Both Parties have not yet found a joint agreement on such decision brought to the floor.

Some efforts presented by the GOP include the Government Shutdown Prevention Act that would prevent the government to shut down with the factor of not having a settled budget resolution. This bill that was voted earlier this week received zero to skim amounts of Democratic support.

Now that Washington is bracing for a government shutdown, there has been attempts that have been passed up for the final deadline which ends April 8, 2011. For such bills to include a resolution or passage, the piece of legislation would have needed a total of 72 hours of argument to have went forth on the floor.

There is much jargon on The Hill that the House members can propose a bill and wave guidelines of debate time for an attempt to get passed.

Most GOP lawmakers blame the Democratic party for not passing budget bills as they approached the end of their reign in 2010. The initiative to pass such legislation has now been taken upon the hands of the Republican party as they no control the House. There is also an issue brought up by most politicians that the federal government has been borrowing money from programs such as Medicare to stimulate the economy by the deposition of funds and printing money without representation by the indirect power of congress directed more-so towards the Federal Reserve.

Saturday at 12am will be the actual time that the government will decline if tomorrow doesn't bring a accurate decision for any budget placements or propositions that must be passed.
