Some gorgeous Film Noir lighting and atmospherics in this original still from John Sturges' 1949, Sign of the Ram, featuring pretty Susan Peters, playing the character of a paralyzed woman who wrecks her family by domination and murder. Oddly, Susan Peters was actually paralyzed from the waist down because of a hunting accident in 1945, during which an accidental discharge from her rifle resulted in a bullet lodged in her spine. Although she was offered similar wheelchair-bound parts, this was the only movie she made after the accident
