Obscure Starlets: Francy Fair

Starlet Francy Fair on the cover of vintage Belgian magazine Ciné-Revue, July 1971. In the early 1970s, Francy Fair appeared in a few Italian and German (sex) comedies: Bruno Corbucci's Due Bianchi nell'Africa Nera (1970) with Franco and Ciccio, Rolf Thiele's Komm nach Wien, Ich Zeich dir Was! (1970), Hänsel und Gretel Verliefen sich im Wald (1970), Komm, Liebe Maid und Mache, with Edwige Fenech (The Brazen Women of Balzac - 1970) and Enzo Barboni's Anche Gli Angeli Mangiano Fagioli (1973), with Bud Spencer and Giuliano Gemma.

La Ragazza dalla Pelle di Luna: Zeudi Araya

More Angelo Frontoni photographs from the Hors-Série 'Photo' issue of Belgian magazine Ciné-Revue (July 1980), entitled "Les Charmes Dévoilés des Plus Belles Stars Internationales." Featured here is the set of Ethiopian beauty, Zeudi Araya who, during the 1970s made a series of exotic exploitation movies in Italy, often directed by Luigi Scattini. Her credits include La Ragazza dalla Pelle di Luna (1972), La Ragazza Fuoristrada (1973), both by Scattini, La Preda (1974) and the aptly titled Il Corpo (1975), once more directed by Scattini.

Tania Busselier in Ciné-Revue

Pretty eurostarlet and Jesus Franco regular Tania Busselier in two full-page images from vintage magazine Ciné-Revue.

Ciné-Revue Photos - Marisa Mell

Some more gorgeous images from the Hors-Série 'Photos' issue of vintage magazine Ciné-Revue (July 1980), entitled "Les Charmes Dévoilés des Plus Belles Stars Internationales." This time the Angelo Frontoni photographs are from the unforgettable Marisa Mell.

Eurostarlets #31: Sophie Hardy

Lovely French starlet Sophie Hardy in a full-page Ciné-Revue image. Sophie Hardy is known to genre fans for her appearances in Max Pécas's La Baie du Désir (1964), Jesus Franco's Cartes Sur Tables and two German Edgar Wallace Krimi, Der Hexer (1964) and Das Geheimnis der Weissen Nonne (1966 - The Trygon Factor). She often has a stripclub or bathroom scene, revealing her considerable charms. Check out my post on Sophie's shower in Der Hexer here. She also appeared in Don Sharp's A Taste of Excitement (1970) with Eva Renzi.

Ciné-Revue Photos - Paola Senatore

Eurostarlet Paola Senatore in some fashionable Angelo Frontoni images from a special  Hors-Serie 'Photos' issue of vintage magazine Ciné-Revue (July 1980) entitled, "Les Charmes Dévoilés des Plus Belles Stars Internationales!" It is likely that these are the same photographs that appeared in the previous year's "Weltstars Ohne Hüllen" (Gemany - Pabel Verlag, 1979). Senatore was a mainstay of 1970s and 1980s cinema di genere, appearing in various horrors, gialli and numerous (s)exploitation films like Aristide Massaccesi's Emanuelle in America (1977), Immagini di un Convento (1979) and Umberto Lenzi's Mangiati Vivi (1980)

Eurostarlets #30: Pamela Tiffin

Gorgeous Pamela Tiffin in a full-page Angelo Frontoni image from vintage magazine Ciné-Revue. She is best known as Franco Nero's girlfriend Lu Auer in Luigi Bazzoni's stunning giallo, Giornata Nera per l'Ariete (The Fifth Cord - 1971). In 1972, she appeared once more opposite Nero in Paolo Cavara's eurowestern, Los Amigos, as Suzie, a prostitute.

Young, Violent and Gorgeous: Eleonora Giorgi

Stunning Eleonora Giorgi in a full page Ciné-Revue image. Giorgi is best know to genre fans for her appearances in Romolo Guerrieri's Liberi Armati Pericolosi (Young Violent Dangerous - 73) and Dario Argento's brilliant Inferno (1980). She also made quite an impression with Domenico Paolella's Storia di una Monaca di Clausura (1973). You'll find some more stuff on that movie here and here. Apparently Eleonora Giorgi started her career with uncredited appearances in La Tarantola dal Ventre Nero (1971, as a maid in the beauty center) and the eurowestern, Tutti per Uno ... Botte per Tutti (1973, as the lover in the opening sequence).

Eurostarlets #27: Ornella Mutti

Pretty and sweet Ornella Muti on the cover of the July 1972 issue of vintage magazine Ciné-Revue. As often with the covers of this magazine, the photographs used may be of an earlier date. Here Ornella looks a lot younger (and has a lot more baby fat), so I figure this is taken somewhere in the later 1960s. Ornella Muti is best known to genre fans for her part in Umberto Lenzi's 1971 giallo, Un Posto Ideale per Uccidere, where, incidentally, she was doubled by eurostarlet Antonia Santilli. You can find a post on Antonia here.

Not unlike several fellow Eurostarlets and stars, she appeared, under her real name Francesca Romana Rivelli, in a series of Fotoromanzi between 1969 and 1971 for Italian publishing house Lancio. Her sister Claudia Rivelli also 'acted' in these photonovels, but appears to have only one movie credit, Nando Cicero's Eurowestern, Due Volte Giuda, where she appeares opposite Klaus Kinski and interminably cute Cristina Galbo.

Images from the Fotoromanzi are from fotoromanzi-topilio.it. Check out the site if you are interested in the Lancio photonovels.

A Tale of Two Sisters - Part 2

Ciné-Revue image of Chantal Broquet, sister of former model and Jesus Franco regular, Alice Arno (born Marie-France Broquet). Like her more famous sister, she too appeared in some early 1970s Franco films, Al Otro Lado del Espejo (1973), Maciste contre la Reine des Amazones (1973) and Les Exploits Erotiques de Maciste dans l'Atlantide (1973), along with Eurociné exploitation fare like, Pigalle Carrefour des Illusions (1973) and Les Filles du Golden Saloon (1975). In these she often appeared alongside her sister.

Eurostarlets #25: Marina Giordana

Lovely Marina Giordana on the cover of the August 1978 issue of vintage magazine, Ciné-Revue. Giordana is best known for playing Carla Santini in Sergio Grieco's wonderfully sleazy and violent La Belva col Mitra (Beast with a Gun - 1977), where she appeared opposite Marisa Mell and Helmut Berger (with whom she lived for a while in Rome). She also appeared in Mario Imperoli's obscure Quella Strana Voglia d'Amare (1977). However, she soon abandoned her film career to 'act' in numerous Fotoromanzi for publishing house Lancio, appearing in 90 of them between 1976 and 1981.

She also graced the cover of Italian Playboy (Februari 1979) and is featured in an extensive pictorial, 'Sorella d'Arte' in Playmen (Italy - April 1976). Both her brothers, Andrea and Carlo pursued acting careers. In 1968, Andrea played Johnny Hamlet (Hamilton) in Enzo G. Castellari's Quella Sporca Storia nel West (Johnny Hamlet).

A Tale of Two Sisters

As promised, lovely sisters Silvia and Sofia Dionisio (aka Flavia Fabiani) together in this Ciné-Revue image.

The Nymph and the Fishmen

You won't find these images in the film!! Lovely Barbara Bach reveals more in a cool photoshoot for a special issue of vintage magazine, Ciné-Revue, concerning Sergio Martino's hugely enjoyable L'Isola degli Uomini Pesce (1979).

Eurostarlets #24: Silvia Dionisio

Gorgeous eurostarlet Silvia Dionisio posing for famous eurostar photographer Angelo Frontoni in this Ciné-Revue image (most likely for a Ciné-Revue calendar). At one time Silvia was married to genre director Ruggero Deodato, they also made some movies together. Her sister Sofia also acts, often credited as Flavia Fabiani. I will soon do a post of the two of them together.

Ciné-Revue Covers

More Ciné-Revue covers by Frontoni, featuring lovely eurostarlets Sylva Koscina, Karin Schubert, Véronique Vendell and Monica Zanchi.

Eurostarlets #22: Gloria Guida

Full-page Frontoni image of lovely Gloria Guida from Ciné-Revue. Quintessential genre actress who appeared primarily in Commedia Sexy all'Italiana. She was also Miss Teenage Italia in 1974.

L'Occhio Dietro la Camera

Famous photographer 'of the stars,' Angelo Frontoni shooting the gorgeous Marisa Mell for the vintage Belgian magazine, Ciné-Revue.

Eurostarlets #019: Tania Busselier

Centre-page illustration from Belgian magazine Ciné-Revue, showing the enigmatic French starlet during her 1972 visit to the Film Festival of Cannes, France. She created quite a scandal as the audacious and ravishing pink baby doll she wore was completely translucent, hiding nothing of her considerable charms. She also caught the attention by arriving at the Palais des Festivals, in a barrage of flashing lightbulbs, on a white destrier. She was guided inside on the arm of Roland Lesaffre, Marcel Carné's favoured actor. Tania's appearance did not go unnoticed by the producers, who vied for the attention of the then Parisian Haute Couture model. Her remarkable entry at the Festival did not lead to stardom, although to genre fans she is considerably well known for her roles in Jesus Franco's movies, La Comtesse Perverse, Plaisir à Trois (both 1974) and Greta - Haus ohne Männer (1977), alongside numerous appearances in French erotic films, such as Le Tango de la Perversion (1974) with Joëlle Coeur and Jean Rollin's Douces Pénétrations (1976).
