NCAA Basketball Stats Guru Talks Butler UConn Game (April 5, 2011)

This sports radio report was created by National Public Radio, (NPR), and posted on their website as part of the "All Things Considered" section.  The broadcast involved two anchors and a sports specialist who helped listeners analyze the results of last night's NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Game.

The radio script was incredibly clear, concise, and conversational.  The two anchors were very careful about using simple words and making it seem as if they were just having a conversation with the listeners and Ken Pomoroy, the college basketball stat specialist.

Ken Pomoroy's addition to the broadcast was important because of the way statistics can give so much information about a topic with very little words, especially in sports.  Pomoroy's part of the broadcast was easy to follow and gave an in-depth look at the game that you can't necessarily gather from just watching the game.

Lastly, the two anchors on the broadcast used strong but simple adjectives such as dreadful, and abysmal to accent the poor performance that Butler put on last night in the championship.  Words like these do a good job of accentuating a point without confusing the listener.
