I wrote this post before I wrote about Lancôme's Juicy Tubes (link down below).
It's been a few months now and I'm near the end of a few of my Clarins beauty products. I've been using Clarins for about 10 years (previous to that I used Ella Bache). I have the same morning and night routine and knowing I was coming to end of these products I decided I'd start looking and actually try another brand. It's not easy to try new products when you have sensitive skin and I admit I was very happy with Clarins, but I was up for a trying new skincare.
After looking at Elemis, Clinique and Lancôme, I decided to go with Lancôme. Lancôme is the brand I thought seemed the most affordable for this experiment (I didn't want to try a high street/drugstore brand) and I also didn't want to splash lots of cash on a brand I'd never used before and therefore waste the money (eg if the product made my skin breakout, or cause skin irritation), which I've never had using Clarins or Ella Bache products!
I'm a sucker for packaging and I just thought the medium sized bottles of the Cleanser (Galateis Douceur for Face and Eyes) and the Toner (Tonique Douceur Softening and Hydrating) were ideal sizes to try out. I bought 125mls but have since found out they do a travel size in 50ml bottles. I have sensitive skin but I decided to try the all skin types formula and when I got home and removed my makeup I applied the cleanser on my lashes covered in mascara (the bottle said it would remove eye makeup) and it seemed to remove the bulk of it, but I'll still use a separate makeup removal wipe for heavy eye makeup. I wanted to see if the cleanser was gutsy enough to remove the majority of the mascara and eyeshadow in my routine before bed and it did and I'm really pleased with it. When I touched my skin in the morning it was soft and felt well hydrated. I also felt that the first day after I used the new Lancôme cleanser and toner that my makeup application seemed to go on smoother and I know that seems like a bit much to say after two applications but like I said my skin felt softener and I noticed an improvement. I really can't say enough about Lancôme!
I'm so loving the cleanser and toner and I'm ready to buy a Moisturiser (I'm still using the very last of the Clarins), which should run out in a few days and I've started buying other Lancôme products a 4 pack of mini lip glosses called Juicy Tubes – you read my blog about it here.
The next Lancôme purchases will be probably the 50ml cleanser and toner, perhaps a couple of quad eyeshadow palettes, a perfume and of course a replacement (for the Clarins) moisturiser.
